St John the Baptist Hellidon

Weddings

from This Day Forward to Have and to Hold
Many people don’t realise that they can have the country church wedding they dream of, even if they’ve never been to church before

A couple can be married in St John the Baptist Church Hellidon if either the bride or groom is resident in the parish of Hellidon, or if the bride or groom have a Qualifying Connection #1 that allows them to be married in the church. If neither of those things apply then the couple would need to worship in the church regularly for a minimum of six months prior to their wedding.
We’re a small village church and we’re always pleased to welcome new faces into our congregation as you make plans and get ready for your big day.
Alternatively, you can apply for an Archbishop’s Special Licence, although these are quite costly and further conditions apply.

We hope you will enjoy coming to church in Hellidon

All you need to help you plan a personal, meaningful, spiritual and beautiful church wedding can be found on the new Church of England web site: www.yourchurchwedding.org

Please contact us as soon as you start making plans and wish to get married in church. There will be time to discuss the service, choose hymns and readings to make the service personal and very special. Then there will be an opportunity to talk about making the most of your future together.

We hope that each wedding day is a wonderful and happy day for all who are there.

For such a special day, we offer a special place, just a ten minute stroll from the Hellidon Lakes hotel.
On a sunny day, it’s the most delightful walk...
